Letter from the CEO

(GRI 102-14)

In the search for continuous improvement, we submitted our practices to external assessments, and we were awarded the ANDESCO Sustainability Award in the category of best large company, as well as the leading telco and the fourth company with greatest open innovation in Colombia, one of the 30 best companies to work for according to Colombian young people, the leading telco and second company in Colombia in the Ranking of Diverse Companies of the LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, to mention only a few.

The path we have taken towards sustainability has also been recognized by banks, which enabled us to become the first company in the country to close loan agreements tied to the performance of sustainability indicators, one with Scotiabank and another with Bancolombia.

Despite the complex situation experienced by Colombia, not just because of the pandemic, but also because of the sensitive public order situation and pressures on the global supply chains, we focused on promoting economic and social progress based on digitalization, without leaving anyone behind. The Company’s activities enabled the creation of over 24,000 jobs and awarding 82% of business to companies incorporated in Colombia, supporting local productivity. We were also a pioneering Company in the industry by launching to market offerings accessible to people with disabilities, and we enabled the Experience Centers (CE, for the Spanish original) in five more cities to assist this population. We launched, jointly with the Vice Presidency of the Republic, the Rural Women Entrepreneur Award and the HUB Fondo Mujer Emprende; and we made available to women victims of domestic violence our CEs as Safe Spaces. Through Fundación Telefónica we reached over 1,700,000 beneficiaries of the digital education and employability programs.
