Telefónica

has been present in Colombia since 2006 and it operates under the Movistar trade name. It is a member of Grupo Telefónica, one of the world’s main telecommunications services provider, with presence in Europe and Latin America through fixed and mobile connectivity services, and a broad range of digital services for consumers (B2C) and companies (B2B).

Under the company name Colombia Telecomunicaciones S. A. ESP BIC, the Company was incorporated as a trade stock company by means of Public Instrument No. 1331 dated June 16, 2003, with duration until December 31, 2092, and main domicile in Bogotá D.C., located at Transversal 60 No.114 A – 55. It is subject to the legal regime defined in Law 1341/2009 and related provisions.

In 2019, Telefónica made the strategic decision to engage in a new action plan, one element of which was to spin off the Hispanic-American (Hispam) operations, to promote the consolidation of operations in Hispam markets, and in 2021 it started up the New Model of Operations (NMO). As a result, the current majority shareholder of Movistar Colombia is Telefónica Hispanoamérica S.A.

  1. The Experience Centers (CE) are direct assistance centers where the customer can acquire new products and services (fixed and mobile) and process all types of post-sale requests.
  2. Partners are suppliers who directly interact with the customers, carry our high-risk activities (work at heights, handling of energy, work in confined spaces) and who have exclusive personnel for Movistar’s operations.
